Kasai Rinkai Park

A Metropolitan Park Surrounded by the Sea, Greenery, and Sky

Kasai Rinkai Park is a popular metropolitan park facing Tokyo Bay. Surrounded by the sea, greenery, and open skies, the park features barbecue facilities and open lawns for picnics, making it an ideal spot to relax or take a leisurely stroll. The Park is also home to Tokyo Sea Life Park, where you can encounter marine life, and a bird sanctuary perfect for birdwatching. There is plenty to see and do even if you spend the whole day there. One of the most popular attractions is the giant Ferris wheel. Its height of 117 meters and wheel diameter of 111 meters makes it one of the largest Ferris wheels in Japan. From above, visitors can take in spectacular views of Tokyo landmarks such as Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, TOKYO SKYTREE®, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji. The view is truly wonderful.

Observation Rest House “Crystal View”

A Scenic Spot with Panoramic Views of Tokyo Bay

When it comes to scenic spots in Kasai Rinkai Park—spanning approximately 82 hectares—the Observatory Rest House “Cristal View”, standing in the Observation Plaza, is a must-see. Designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, this building is highly regarded as a piece of modern architecture. Its defining feature is a rectangular structure made entirely of glass, which blends seamlessly into the surrounding natural environment. The building is beautiful not only during the day, when it glistens as it reflects sunlight along with the sea, but also at sunset, when it is bathed in warm light, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Walking inside feels almost like taking a stroll in the sky. The building features a café as well as seating areas where visitors can relax. Enjoy a leisurely moment while taking in the panoramic views.

Tokyo Tatsumi Ice Arena

Tokyo’s First Year-Round Ice Rink at a Metropolitan Facility

Tokyo Tatsumi Ice Arena opened in September 2025 as the first year-round ice arena operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The site, which previously housed the Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center, has been transformed into a new hub for ice sports. The arena features both a main rink and a sub rink built to international standards, allowing visitors to enjoy figure skating, speed skating, ice hockey, curling, para ice hockey, wheelchair curling, and more throughout the year. In addition to use by the general public, the facility offers skating schools and trial programs where beginners can learn the basics. It also serves as a venue for competitions, making it a versatile space used by everyone from first-time skaters to elite athletes. As a new hub for ice sports, the arena is attracting considerable attention.

Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome

Go on an Adventure Observing Tropical Plants

Step inside the dome and you will find yourself in a tropical rainforest. The Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome is a facility that makes use of surplus heat from the adjacent Shin-Koto Incineration Plant. Covering an area of approximately 1,500 square meters, its large greenhouse is a botanical paradise where about 800 species of tropical and subtropical plants grow luxuriantly. The main greenhouse is made up of three domes, where visitors can observe waterside plants, fruit-bearing plants, and rare endemic species from the Ogasawara Islands. As you gaze upon and walk past a waterfall with its sounds of cascading water reaching your ears, you will come upon traditional tropical dwellings standing among towering palm trees, making you feel as though you are exploring a jungle. There are also many other highlights, including a carnivorous plant greenhouse and a herb garden, offering plenty to see and enjoy.
